A successful Software Development Manager should be highly autonomous with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze quantitatively, scope technical requirements, and effectively prioritize program deliverables. Responsibilities

  • Build and manage a team of Software Engineers.
    Foster career growth and a strong team culture.

  • Solve challenging problems at significant scale

  • Work on innovative systems that are in their beginning stages

  • Work closely with product management and other business partners to define strategy and requirements

  • Have regular communication with senior management on status, risks and product strategy

  • Be a thought leader, where you don't just know how to solve the problem, you prove it by leading team to build the solution.

  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach technical staff.

  • Interface with our external customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress.

  • Own all operational metrics and support for your team’s software.

  • Manage the agile development process and methodology to deliver value to customers.

  • Help develop long-term development and business technology strategies.

  • Communicate progress through artful storytelling - taking recommendations on critical initiatives and guiding Leaders to take action on those findings

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years experience developing software.

  • 3+ years experience managing and developing software development teams

  • Experience forming teams and recruiting software engineers(optional)

  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies (optional)
